After a brief stop in Salt Lake City, Beth and I have made it back to Portland. Still in the process of unpacking, it’s nice to have our feet on solid ground again.

It was a really nice trip across the country though. We had a great time in Denver with friends and even managed to stop and see some art in Salt Lake City. Though the trip out to the Spiral Jetty was perhaps a little anti-climatic, it was still a very nice drive over some unique roads.

After all that bouncing it’s probably good that we didn’t spend any more time getting back to Oregon. One of my tires had a leak and I had to get the valve stem replaced. But really, none the worse for wear.

Quietly lounging in our hotel room, we are recovering a bit from our drive this weekend. It’s tough work to pack up all of your worldly belongings in a few hours and then drive 400 miles.

We got into Denver yesterday with no problems, and had a nice evening with friends and their family. Not much on the schedule for this week. We’re going to have dinner with some people, go to a few museums, and I’m hopefully going to learn to golf. It’s possible there might be some time to ride a motorcycle somewhere in there too. But all in all, we’re on vacation. We’ve got a nice hotel and no real commitments.
