Beth and I are going house shopping. We’ll be moving up to Seattle in January, so we’re up here this weekend looking for a place to live. While we’re here we’re looking forward to spending some time with Reece and John in Tacoma as well.
I was right. Denny’s isn’t my fist choice of restaurant. It will be good to cook my own food for the next couple weeks.
I’ve been invited down to Mexico this week. This is the first time I’ve been to the country before, which adds to the excitement. Unfortunately that excitement doesn’t nearly make up for the drudgery of my accommodation’s.
My customer is quite a ways away from the city, out in an industrial park. Luckily there is a Holiday Inn directly around the corner and within very easy walking distance. The hotel restaurant is the attached Denny’s which is both breakfast and room-service. Less luckily this Denny’s is the only food within a 20 minute drive of the hotel.
I avoid eating at Denny’s when I’m in the USA. Just imagine my joy at having the opportunity to eat at one 3 meals a day for 5 days.
Phew. Busy week. 4 flights, 3 cities, 2 rental cars, and 5 calls later I’m back home. God bless overtime.
Change of plans. I got a call last night asking me to be in LA this morning. We have a customer here who is down and needs an engineer asap. Unfortunately the firestorms around San Diego are keeping the usual engineers from being able to get here.
Oh, I got to watch a big burly customer threaten to assault and tinny little flight attendant today, that was super.
I’m down in the Bay Area again for work. The plan is for me to pack up two microscopes to be moved and then hang out in the area helping out with service calls. I’ll be flying back to Oregon for the weekend.
I might get a quieter week I think. Just a few day trips inside of the region to look after. Training went well last week. It’s was really good to get back over to Eindhoven for some more training. I always enjoy learning how to do what I’ve been trying to do for a while now.
I’m in Europe for the next two weeks. Nothing super exciting, but a chance to get some more training for my job. I do have a weekend to myself inbetween though. If you have any ideas where I should go, drop me a line.
I’m home this week. Hopefully there won’t be too many calls for me to leave the area for a little while. I’ll be heading back to the Netherlands on Saturday. It’ll be nice to take a little break from the running around and working to get more training for this job I’m doing.
Vacation was sure nice last week. It’s always tough coming back to work after a week off. But I’ve got a lot to do this week. There is lots of paperwork to catch up on after this last month, and then two new systems to install for one of my customers at the University of Washington. It’s going to be a busy week.
