History of these Recordings
A few years ago I spent some time living in Thailand. While I was there I made good friends with a man named Bert from Belgium. Together we spent quite a bit of time traveling around Thailand and teaching students English at weekend camps. During the nights, when we were done teaching, we would get into all sorts of trouble with our other friends.
One thing that Bert always carried with him was a tape recorder. Since everyone knew it was there, it became a natural part of the culture in our group. As the night went on lots of people would reach for the device to leave a record of something that had happened or to just capture something funny. Listening to the tapes later was always a very touching and unique momento to our times together.
When I was rummaging through my belongings the other day I came across my own tape recorder with a few things on it. There wasn't much there, but it was enough to bring back some great memories of that time.
I've decided to pull out my recorder and start using it again. With the way technology has progressed, it's now very easy, and free, to transfer my recordings to the computer. So I thought this would be a fun addition to my website.
