Speed Limit: Infinity + 1

I distinctly remember passing the “End Speed Limit” sign; but when you are watching the sheriff in your rear view mirror, you can’t help but wonder “What exactly is the speed limit here?”

I started my new job today and so far so good.  Typical first day stuff of course: no one was expecting me, no projects to work on yet, and no id cards ready to get into the buildings.  But I had a nice time catching up with people that I worked with last summer and getting acquainted with the new group.

The inevitable moment of tension arose when my boss asked me if I was one of the usual 4 hour a day interns?  This came as a bit of a surprise to me and I’m hoping that I’m one of those special interns that works a full day.  But on the plus side, if that means their 9 month program was intended to be completed with half days, perhaps I’ll be able to finish it in half the time.

Though, if I am only working half days I’ll have lots of time to play in the back yard with my new golf clubs. Even if I’ll never be able to afford going to a real golf course.

Look out Tiger

I tried golfing for the first time today. I’m fairly pleased to say that at the process of hitting a ball off of a tee: I don’t completely suck ass. Most of the time I am able to make the little ball go down the field.

One glaring exception is when I try with the driver. I am quite proud of my ability to make a ball completely change directions in the air. So, if I am ever out golfing and you get hit by a ball, you might not want to blame the people standing in the direction that the shot came from. It’s more than likely I was way to the left of them.
