Breaker 1-9 Breaker 1-9

I’ve picked up a new toy for my truck and it’s been a bit of a saga to get it all hooked up and working.

CB Radios are kind of cool to play with, and there are a lot of interesting people out there to talk to. I just wish I could talk to them and drive at the same time. It’s a lot less cool if I have to park and turn of my engine to hear the people down the road.

I’ve rewired some more stuff and gotten a different antenna which seems to have helped. But there is still a lot to do. I really wish this were just a plug in and work deal. I guess that’s why cell phones are so much more popular these days! There is something to be said for a technology that doesn’t break down because of a power box on the side of the road or another driver’s engine making too much rf noise.

I wish I were cool

Interesting week here on the home front.

Work has been going well and I’ve been getting my fingers into some new projects. It’s pretty amazing that when you to a high enough voltage, air will become a better conductor than a resistor. Of course that’s only fun when you don’t have a $700 current meter hooked up on the other side of the resistor.

It’s been more hectic at home than at work though. Angie’s ongoing battle with the powers that be has got her some media attention again. This time it’s MTV paying a visit to film a special (including reenactments) here on location in our home. They filmed Angie doing an interview with one of the producers for quite a few hours Monday morning and they are going to get her to dress up in prom outfits with a few other people at a hotel downtown Friday night.

Who knows what else this saga will entail, but keep a look out for High School Stories on MTV. We’ve been told that this is going to fill a 15 minute spot… but from the amount of film that’s being taken we can’t really be sure.

This is the teaser/description of the series taken from the MTV site:

Take an inside look at the outrageous antics of high school students all across the country. These stories are true-to-life reenactments of actual high school scandals, pranks and controversies starring the troublemakers and class clowns that made it all happen. You’ll also see what happens when seemingly innocent pranks get out of hand and the students involved have to deal with the consequences on a brand new season of High School Stories. mtv.com
