In the Beginning

I started this website in 2000 with a friend of mine in Thailand. We envisioned a place for travelers around the world to come together to share their experiences and triumphs. In its infancy it was sparse on content and was known to confuse and scare AOL users. Since then it has undergone a few revisions and gained a little more content. Though I think it still scares some AOL users.

In many ways this website has come to be a personal blog for me and a chronicle of my travels through the world. I hope to be able to continue sharing my stories and travels as time goes on. But I’m lazy, very lazy, and would be forever (at least till next Tuesday) grateful to anyone out there that would like to contribute as well. My ideals of this website as a community for travelers have not faded, but my optimism about the number of people that actually read it has been brought into check. I don’t hold out any hope that masses of people will flock to me with stories to be posted, but do know that there will always be space, and a place, here for anyone who would like to share.

So in conclusion I would like to offer you a warm welcome to my little corner of the internet. I hope you enjoy your time here, and if not, that you’re at most only mildly offended. Take care, and if you’re ever in the mood, drop me a line.

About Me

My name is Jesse Doerr, and this is my website. I just recently graduated from college and I'm beginning a new career: training to be a service technician for electron microscopes. It's an interesting day when you get to use electrons (which you can't see) to look at atoms (which you also can't see). I'll be traveling all over the country and possibly the world to repair and install these tools.
